Happy Holidays with Gratitude to You

2020 has been quite a year. No matter where we find ourselves, we can remind ourselves that it’s OK to pause, breathe, and just be for a moment. We can let ourselves know that as surely as the sun sets each evening just beyond darkness is the light of a new day.

This has been a year like no other in my lifetime and yet there is much I feel gratitude for. I am thankful to all of our front-line workers – healthcare providers, teachers, retailers, volunteers, police and fire departments, and parents. I am thankful to my loved ones – family, friends, and community.

And as 2020 concludes, with 2021 ahead, I want to share my heartfelt appreciation for you. Thank you for being in this community – for accompanying me as I’ve built this coaching and speaking practice. Thank you for traveling with me in launching this newsletter a few years ago. I hope that in some modest way the ideas shared have helped bring greater resilience and thriving into your life. Although I didn’t know it at the beginning, these newsletters and my Psychology Today blog, have created the foundations for the book on flourishing I am working on and hope to publish in 2021.

Thank you for your readership and support throughout this year. And to those of you who have offered comments, thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas. While this year has been challenging for so many of us in so many ways, I continue to return to gratitude, compelling myself to notice the blessings in my life. And I am often reminded that just beyond the shadows lie glimmers of light.

I am thankful to my amazing clients and the many relationships we have created during these past years.

May you know safety, well-being, love, and peace this year and always. May laughter (at least occasionally), hope, and joyful moments light your path.
