About Dr. Kate Hays: Kate F. Hays, Ph.D. (1943 – 2021) was the author of numerous books including Performance Psychology in Action; You’re On! Consulting for Peak Performance; Move Your Body, Tone Your Mood; Working It Out: Using Exercise in Psychotherapy; and Integrating Exercise, Sports, Movement and Mind: Therapeutic Unity. She served as president of the American Psychological Association’s Society for Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology. Her research, writing, international teaching, and practice were directed toward the application of sport psychology techniques to athletes and other performance populations.
